Cello lessons with Monique Heidema

"where teaching is still a form of art"

My quote is :

Everyone who wants to learn playing an instrument has the rights to get highly qualified education!

Why I teach music :

Not because I expect you to be major in music.

Not so you can relax, not so you can have fun.

so you will be human,

so you will recognise beauty,

so you will be sensitive,

so you will be closer to infinite beyond this world,

so you will have something to cling to

so you will have more compassion

so you will have more gentleness

so you will have so to say more life!

Monique Heidema is the professor cello master, bachelor, preparatory and young talent at the

Sweelinck Academie Conservatory Amsterdam.

She is regularly invited to provide masterclasses in the Netherlands and abroad as well. In 2015 she gave masterclasses in Taiwan and in 2016 she travelled tot the conservatorio superior de musica van Salamanca in Spain for the Spanish bachelor and master students.
Since 2017 she organizes her own cello course in the Netherlands. This year this course will take place in October 2019.
During summers 2019 and 2020 she was and will be a member of the team of excellent professors coming from all over the world during the Ervin Schiffer masterclasses  in Hungary

Monique Heidema also likes to give cello lessons to enthusiastic, motivated and advanced students. She has a lot of experience in guiding students to an entrance examination at a conservatory and preparing a program for participation in a competition. The combination of teaching cello students and amateurs is a very fine, but also very important combination; after all, making music must be well supervised at every level and everyone is entitled to the best training to (learn to) play an instrument.

Several of her students have been graduated with fantastic results. Perhaps even more important, all graduated cellists can earn their living.
Several students have played with good results on entrance examinations of the conservatories in The Hague, Amsterdam, Tilburg, Utrecht and Rotterdam and several prizes have been won at the Prinses Christina Concours and the competition of Stichting Jong Muziektalent Nederland, Maassluise muziekweek and the Britten concours Zwolle.

If you are interested in private lessons we can discuss about the form together. Individual or group lessons. The length of a lesson is at least 30 minutes.

Also online cello or chamber music lessons are possible!

Reviews :

Aldus oud master student Bianca Bongers.

  • Vioolbouwer Saskia Schouten: "gefeliciteerd geweldige juf! ik was alleen toehoorder van Dionne Nijsten, maar alle lof!!"
